Why does the ATO require agent nomination?
Client-to-agent linking was introduced to strengthen security and prevent unauthorised access to taxpayer accounts. Until you nominate us, we cannot see your ATO account, review your lodgment history or act on your behalf.
Where do I complete the nomination?
In the ATO's Online services for business, under Profile then Agent details. You will need your myGovID (now myID) linked to the business. We walk you through every screen on a call.
How long do we have?
Once you submit the nomination, we have 28 days to accept it. If it lapses, the nomination has to be started again - another reason to do it together on a call.
