Frequently asked questions.
Do I have to tell my old accountant I'm leaving?
You can, but you don't have to - we send the professional courtesy letter for you. It is standard practice between firms and there is no awkward conversation required.
Will I get charged by my old accountant for handing over?
Generally no. Professional standards require accountants to hand over your records. If work is genuinely in progress you may owe for that work, but handover itself should not cost you.
How long does switching take?
Most switches are complete within a week. The ATO agent nomination is the main step - you complete it in Online services for business, we guide you through it on a call, and we have 28 days to accept it.
Can I switch mid-year or before a deadline?
Yes. Mid-year switches are normal - we pick up exactly where your last accountant left off. If a lodgment is due imminently, tell us and we will prioritise it.
What will it cost with LINK?
