How to Use the Business Boost Grants Program for Your Business
The next round of the Business Boost Grants Program is opening shortly, and is for small businesses wanting to enhance their efficiency and productivity.Funded businesses are expected to:
- Increase turnover, profit, and employment
- Boost business confidence and skills
- Enhance efficiency and productivity
- Strengthen resilience and survivability
Available Funding
Eligible businesses who are successful in their application will receive a grant payment between $10,000 and $20,000 (excluding GST), with funding to be paid over 2 milestone payments.
Successful applicants must however equally co-contribute towards the total project cost.
Detailed Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Business Boost Grants Program, your business must:
- have more than 1 and less than 20 employees
- be operating and have an active ABN
- be registered for GST
- have a registered Queensland headquarters location, as per the ABR
- be established and financially sound
- experiencing growth, with a gross profit in the 2023–24 financial year
- have a turnover of $300,000 (minimum) in the 2023–24 financial year
- have a publicly accessible web presence to identify business operations (e.g. business website, social media pages)
- not have been approved for funding under earlier Business Boost rounds
- not be insolvent or have owners/directors that are an undischarged bankrupt.
Your business must meet these criteria throughout the duration of the grant-funded activity.
Eligible Activities
This support includes funded activities in 3 project areas:
- Future Planning: Develop strategic business plans for growth, establish governance boards, identify export opportunities, and ensure compliance with industry standards, including sustainability.
- Specialised and Automated Software: Implement advanced cloud platforms, AI systems, CRM systems, cybersecurity tools, data warehouses, production systems, software integration, and management systems.
- Staff Management and Development: Enhance HR strategies with skills development, robust recruitment, seamless onboarding, targeted training, and employee performance management frameworks.
What is the Application Process?
The application process consists of two stages:
1. Registration of Interest (ROI):Opens at 9am, June 24, 2024 and closes on July 5, 2024, at 5 pm.
2. Full Application: Selected applicants from Stage 1 will be invited to submit a full application via the DESBT SmartyGrants portal.
