3 day lockdown and what this means for your employees
The Fair Work website has been updated on the 29th March 2021 with information regarding workplaces shutting down due to the three day lockdown.
Fair Work has stated that employers may be able to stand down their employees during the lockdown period if the sudden closure is outside the employer's control. This can include when a business has closed due to government direction. Before standing down employees, employers must consider working from home options, changes to duties and hours of work, taking paid or unpaid leave.
Fair work has provided a stand down checklist here.
Employers need to discuss and communicate any stand down orders with their employees.
If you have any questions regarding these stand down provisions please refer to the Fair Work website or contact 1300 799 675.
